If you are new to collecting casino chips and want to make sure you are
investing in chips that are highly desirable, a good way to do your homework
before you start buying casino chips is to do research on Ebay.
Price research on Ebay is very simple…here is the step-by-step instructions:
Go to ebay.com
On the left side of the ebay home page is a list of categories, click on
“collectibles”
This will bring up a page with sub categories. Scroll down the page to find the
“Casino” subcategory and under that, click on “chips”
This will bring up the search results for listings of casino chips. Now go to
the right hand side of the page, you will see a box labeled “Sort by:” Arrow
down to sort by: “Price: highest first”.
This will show you all the high valued chips currently up for sale.
You can also search for listings that are closed to see what prices the auctions
closed at. To see the closed auctions, go to the left side of the page, Under
“Search Options”, click on the box beside the “Completed listings” and scroll
down the page until you see the button labeled “Show Items” Click on this button
to show items that are completed.
A page will pop up requesting you enter your ebay user ID and password. After
you signed in, you will be able to see the completed listing results page.
Go to the top right side of the page and sort by highest price first. Remember,
Ebay only display completed listings for the last few weeks. So do research
frequently to get a feel of the marketplace and the most current prices.
